I have read most of Havner’s books over the last few years (at least all that I could find). I also keep some kind of “daily” reading book beside my bed which I read every night. Havner’s All The Days was my choice for 2004. Since Havner compiled this book somewhat later in his life (1976), it contains quips and anecdotes that have appeared in his earlier writings. Havner was a SBC evangelist who was in demand as a speaker until his death. He was an entertaining yet penetrating writer and speaker (you can still find audio tapes of his messages) who incorporated a “down-home” style with solid Christian wisdom.
