Rick Shrader‘s Review:

This is the best book on advice to single women before they get married. Elisabeth Elliot was the wife of Jim Elliot who was killed in 1956 by Aucas in Ecuador. She remarried in 1969 but her husband died in 1973. She remarried again in 1977. The book was printed in 1976 and reprinted in 2004. This small book is a reprint of letters that she sent to her daughter Valerie before she got married. Elliot writes from a complementarian point of view with refreshing candidness. She believes strongly in male leadership in the home and loving subjection from a wife. Her voice is so persuasive that she was one of the female contributors to the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood in 1987. I would recommend this book to any single women considering marriage.
