Rick Shrader‘s Review:

Kevin Bauder wrote a series of articles in his weekly blog on God’s will. These have been turned into this book (of about 115 pages). It is a good and fairly quick read. It will be a good help to laymen and couselors in ministry. I think there are two questions that Bauder addresses that are prominent in the question of God’s will. 1) Is there an individual will for each believer? 2) Is there a call to vocational ministry? To each of these Bauder answers no and yes. No, in the sense of direct or miraculous interventions from God. Yes, in the sense of applying biblical wisdom to the situation and God confirming this with peace. So, the reader will not find a “traditional” view of knowing God’s will by sign or direct indication. Yet he can know God’s will by applying these exercises (chapter titles): Start with what you know; do all to the glory of God; know your duties; pray about it; inform yourself; seek godly counsel; consider your circumstances; account for your inclinations; find your sense of vocation; wait for the peace of God; and avoid buyer’s blues. This may not satisfy those looking for a specific yes or no, but if followed, will greatly help in directing them in the right direction.
