Rick Shrader‘s Review:

Cavin Harper writes for the Legacy Coalition which has been producing books for family and grandparenting for a few years now. This is the second book I’vve read by Harper and they are usually helpful. This one is a small book (100 pages) on encouraging grandparents who end up raising their grandchildren mostly because the parents of these children have divorced, been in trouble with the law, or have other serious circumstances. He writes, “Grandparents who are raising their grandchildren is a growing demographic. Some studies, mostly from state and federal social service agencies, suggest 2.6 million grandchildren in the United States are being raised by grandparents.” Harper believes that number may be far lower than the actual number. This book would be encouraging for older folks in this circumstance. The book is basically a Bible study on passages that bring encouragement, more than a how-to-do-it book.
