I was given this 1985, Tyndale House book to read if I became interested. The title didn’t much interest me but the table of contents did. I have found an interest in biographies of great men of God and this book contains ten biographies that center on the home life of these great men. They are John Knox, Hudson Taylor, Billy Sunday, Frank Livingston Hill, C.S. Lewis, John Bunyan, David Livingston, William Jennings Bryan, Charles Spurgeon and Peter Marshall.
Each biography is about 30 pages and tells many details about the struggle between home and ministry. I wouldn’t say that these men (and women) would get passing grades in today’s family living seminars, but neither would I say that today’s family living seminars are producing such men and women as these.
