Rick Shrader‘s Review:

Jonathan Pratt is professor of New Testament at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Minneapolis, MN. This 2026 book is published by Kregel Academic. This is Pratt’s life-long work on the perseverance of the saints, and was part of his doctrinal work at Dallas Seminary. I have heard Jon present this material at the MacDonald Lectures at Central Seminary. Pratt is defending the need for seeing prolonged sanctification in the believer’s life as a testimony to true salvation. He gives a brief history of the conservative views of sanctification mostly by conservative and dispensational men. He also exposes the rise of antinomianism in the church today. In fact, Part One is a defense of the scriptural teaching on perseverance (highlighting the indicative and imperative moods in Greek), and Part Two is an exposure of antinomianism (from Free Grace, Radical Grace, and Hyper-Grace). Pratt approaches these from a traditional, conservative Calvinistic point of view.
