Rick Shrader‘s Review:
This 2013 book (of only 95 pages) in a concise view of Piper’s well-known hyper Calvinism. As the title suggests, he gives his view of all 5 points of Calvinism. Of these he says, “It is more important to give a positive biblical position on the five points than to know the exact form of the original controversy. These five points are still at the heart of Biblical theology. They are not unimportant. Where we stand on these things deeply effects our view of God, man, salvation, the atonement, regeneration, assurance, worship, and missions.” He then adds, “These five points are focused on the central act of God’s saving sinners. Nor do I make the claim that these titles for the five doctrines of Grace are the best titles. Like any shorthand version of a Doctrine, they are all liable to misunderstanding” (pp. 12, 13). This is a good book to read to understand Piper, and also to get a quick overview of a Calvinist’s position.
